Yes ! Your browser is kinda strange...
Colors are : 
#RRGGBB

Have a look there, here is result on IE6 (of course nescape is one of
best shits of html presentation / CSS so ... U had white :) ):

:) will be soo great on a white back ground :) 

Problem is IE allow many html mistakes and display reselt where netscape
hide them ...

you're provoking "hallucinations" in any browser, because i don't think
I've seen any specification for 4-character css color definitions
starting with "#". If I may cite your "style-default.css":

body {
  color: #000;
  background: #fff;
  padding: 8px;
}

How can this work...? Shouldn't it be rather "#000000" and "#ffffff" ???
