[icq-devel] PHP + ICQ?

I need the client to be able to listen for certain strings of text, and be able to reply to each of them in a different way. I didn't think vICQ would let me do that - and even if it was able to, I have no idea how to get it to do that :P

I'll look into it, thanks :-)

Why should you write your own?

There is a vICQ client written in Perl. It can be used both for interactive & batch communication.

Hmm, allright, thanks.. looks like I might be up for writing one myself, which could be a bit interesting. Either that, or learning perl.

What I'm actually trying to do, is have some sort of PHP bot that will send me info in an ICQ message ... I can log into ICQ on my cell, so its an easy way to get information back and forth..

Any suggestions on where I can find a tutorial on writing a client from scratch?

  Thanks again,

  Tim
